Saddened by the Death of Corey Haim

I hadn't really paid to much attention to any of the entertainment news until just a moment ago. I couldn't believe it when I read that Corey Haim died of an accidental drug overdose. He was only 38. I am so sad. Having grown up in the 80s I remember seeing many of his movies. He will always hold a special place in my heart.

The Lost Boys remains one of my favorite movies to date. A real vampire movie. I haven't let my daughter watch it yet because it's rated R though I know she'll love it. Corey is just so good in it. I'm going to have to rent it now. I haven't seen it in a few years.

Lucas is another of his great movies. It's just one of those typical 80s movies that moves you. He's plays a typical nerd who falls for a new girl who ends up becoming a cheerleader so he tries out for the football team. Meanwhile she's too busy falling in love with Charlie Sheen. Oh the memories.

It's just so disheartening when something like this happens. He will always be remembered by the wonderful roles he played. He will be missed.

Very sad. We're losing so many of the icons we grew up with.

Though I've not watched either of those movies (and never heard of the movie Lucas), or know who Corey Haim is; it's never good news to hear someone some young has lost their life. Drugs are such a hideous problem that seems to plaque the young set connected to the movies and music. They don't seem to be grounded or able to deal with fame. So very sad.

I know, I grew up watching the Corey movies, Lost Boys was definitely my favorite. Even the last Lost Boys was good. I liked what they did with the Haim and Feldman scene at the very end.
