Great Message in Glee Last Night!

Well Tuesday night is Glee night and that means me and my 13 year old chill on the couch and watch. We look forward to it all week and when it finally comes on there is no distractions. No texting and no calls aloud till after. She is very serious about it.

Last nights episode had a very important message. It focused on Mercedes and Kurt more than any of the other Glee kids. Mercedes is now on the Cheerios and evil Sue Sylverster wants her to loose weight ASAP or she is off the team. This causes Mercedes to go to extremes and eventually faints from lack of food. She is then befriended by Quinn who is very kind and gets her to see that starving yourself to make someone else happy or to be a part of a group is wrong. You need to love yourself for who you are. Mercedes appears at the pep rally even though she is off the team and speaks to the crowd asking anyone who feels the way she does to come down and join her. She sings Beautiful which was just that beautiful. You need to be happy with who you are. Though it's important to be healthy. You should never go to extremes to get there.

As for Kurt we see him trying to get his father and Finn's mother together so he can be with Finn. This obviously blows up in his face when his father starts to bond with Finn. Poor Kurt feels totally left out. I felt bad for him. Though I think he needs to get a clue that Finn doesn't fly that way.

Anyway great episode and I look forward to next week.

I left the channel on last night and watched it too...I know...Gasp! LOL I loved the message sent out last night...our teen girls NEED to know that's it's okay to not be a size 1 or 2 and they are still perfect anyway!! BTW, it was the songs that got me on that first watching, this time I liked the music and singing. Ok, ok, so maybe I'll catch it next week too, lolol.

There is a new worldwide missing children alert system that sends it's alerts directly to peoples web browsers. It does this by having you install a browser button on internet explorer or firefox. They are working on an app for smart phone as well. You will receive alerts of children who have gone missing within 100 miles of your location.
The program is 100% free to join and use and there is a fund raising aspect where by you can chose to click on the browser button and be served a 10 second pop up ad that you rate from one to five stars and the advertiser pays you a small amount of cash for viewing the ad. This could be a great way for non-profits like church and community groups to raise extra money, because when you rate the ad you get payed and 7 people or organizations above you also get payed. Some of the largest charity groups in the world are already on board with this program. The Shriners hospital, the International Red Cross, Make a Wish and Save the Children just to name a few. This is a very worthwhile cause and as bloggers we should be supporting this with all our heart and soul. Join me in getting the word out about this great grass roots movement to help save the lives of children in our communities.
